I ''failed'' my sleep study miserably, but the good/bad news this is highly treatable, so says the pulmonary dr. who sent me for the study. I have to re-do my CPAP sleep study again ($) and then they can determine exactly what needs I will have for Cpap or Bipap or whatever..........does this sound logical?
My numbers were some of the worst dr. has seen, 22x's per hr, in REM sleep, 60X's, so dr. feels definitely CPAP will help me.
Just how difficult is this to get used to this? Odd thing, is I didn't snore much, but sleep is fragmented and without AMBIEN or something like this, no sleep.
Am a diabetic, with usual b/p, sugar numbers, etc. elevated. I've been told that with the CPAP in time, I may actually see a decrease in my numbers, b/p and so on. this is all new to me. But I am glad finally to see a dr. who listens, I have complained so long about poor sleep, daytime drowsiness, inability to fall asleep and stay asleep, I feel other dr.'s just are looking at me, but sure not listening. I do understand that this is a much diagnosed ailment, sleep apnea.
Any tips I should know about, recommendations, would be appreciated.
Does anyone get a hard time at the airport with the portable ones, for traveling?
Thank you and happy sleeping.........
Gailzee
